2. There are many places to hike around the hotel and we enjoyed hiking on rough trails as well as the paths of a former golf course.

4. I have seen pictures where the surf is calm; perhaps it was the season we visited that contributed to the rough conditions.

5. The hotel is located in Kapalua which is roughly 20 minutes away from Lahaina (main downtown area), 15 minutes from Ka'anapali (shopping, restaurants, hotels), and an hour from the Wailea and airport area.

9. The beach does get a rough surf, so I wouldn't recommend it for little ones, but then again, I wouldn't recommed the Ritz for families with kids anyway.
