1. The beach has nice gentle surf unlike Kaanapali where the surf was hurling rocks at us and the beach had a steep slope.

4. As a DC resident who drives on the rock Creek Parkway quite frequently, I wasn't very intimidated by the trek, which was well worth taking.

5. If you like tame tame water, I recommend driving down to Black rock in Ka'anapali in front of the Sheraton, as there are a ton of fish, sea turtles, etc over there.

6. I recommend walking in something sturdier than flipflops since the rocks can be jagged and slippery, but it was pretty cool.

7. It's a bunch of jagged lava rock formations that you can take a short hike on and the waves from the ocean create these neat, but very large splashes on these rocks.

9. Be sure to wear reef walkers, rubber booties to protect your feet from the rocks.

10. Take a walk down by the chapel near the shoreline of the Ritz and you can walk on ancient harden lava rock right out side the hotel, plus take in some great scenery.
