5. We had drinks at the Bull and Bear as well as Peacock's Alley (adjacent to the lobby)--very civilized places with elegant classic cocktails.

6. Our room smelled of pet urine, there is absolutely no venilation in the bathrooms, the shower was falling apart, the linen was tattered (including the spa robe), etc. Expect beauty and grandiosity at the lobby-level, but not beyond.

8. What we liked:-the lobby -the Bar (not the price but nice bartender!)-decent Fitness Centre -some old deco items like the USMail on each floor which used to receive and despatch correspondence.

9. When we walked into the Waldorf lobby we were immediately impressed by its grandeur, but when we got upstairs to our room (after a two hour wait for it to be serviced) disappointment set in.
