1. The outside is currently being worked on, so you do miss the grand first impression, however this is completely forgotten as soon as you walk in:) as it was my 30th birthday they were kind enough to upgrade us to a suite on the 25th floor, which was stunning, plus vouchers for breakfast at Oscars.

2. The bar and restaurant prices were high but within 5 minutes walk in any direction you can find good local bars with lots of atmosphere charging at least 50% less than the hotel.

4. My suggestion is to just walk in,absorb the beauty of the place and stay at one of the many much more comfortable and cheaper hotels in NY.

7. we stayed on the 7th floor at the front of the hotel in a king size room (we where upgraded when we arrived as it was my birthday), the room was very clean with a walk in wardrobe and a bed we could have shared with our whole family plus a large flat screen tv (this won my husband over straight away).
