For breakfast though, it's got to be Oscars for some AMAZING American waffles and pancakes or for
lunch
to taste the eponymous waldorf salad.

All in all a historic hotel and worth a stay but I'd recommend visiting the reception/lobby and having
lunch
in one of the restaurants rather than forking out for a room which are better elsewhere.

Bloomingdale's is a short walk from the hotel and we ate
lunch
at Patsy's (great coal fired pizza) After shopping we just walked, ended up at the Plaza, another historic site to behold.

lunch
in Peacock Alley.

The concierge seemed a little dis-interested in recommending a restaurant for
lunch
, but in the end he did direct us to a very good Italian restaurant.

Did the hostoric hotel tour the next morning -- tour guides were very nice and informative, but the included
lunch
at Oscar's restaurant (in the hotel) was pretty bad.
"Probably not worth the money "
