1. I am not sure if it was a water heater, bad pipes, or just someone taking a shower, but it was loud enough to wake me and keep me awake.

4. This is not a five-star hotel -- a five-star hotel would have an electronic system alerting staff that the guest was out so there wouldn't be loud knocks or conversation -- but Sofitel is still my go to hotel in DC, Philadelphia and now Chicago.

9. Here are some other observations-The GOOD: Very quiet hallways (not a lot of kids running around), good room-service, nice views, large bathroomsThe BAD: No connected parking, SMALL ROOMS, not-so-great staff, loud heating/cooling system, over-rated restaurant and over-crowded bar.

10. Never heard much from anyone--the rooms were quiet, the doors didn`t shut too loudly, and the views were good, with the large windows.
