1. The taxi's are so reasonably priced that it would be worthwhile to stay at a different location and catch a cab to Time's Square and walk to the different sights from there.

I have stayed at and recommended to many the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City for the primary reason that it is extraordinarily conveniently located for train travellers like me to train into the city, walk with my bags directly across the street, check in, then on checkout day, store bags at the hotel, do whatever and have a very easy trip in and out of a busy town.

3. The only reason we stayed was because the temperature was freezing, all other hotels were booked and I wasn't about to go lugging around my bags in NYC at this hour trying to find somewhere to stay.

4. This time the New Yorker was fully booked and the Hotel Pennsylvania was only one 'reasonable priced' hotel near MSG/Macy's that we could find.
