1. This room was not much better and I am no expert but I can be almost positive that the black beady things were bed bug larvae.

2. I was also going to see a match in Madison Square Garden and considering you walk straight out the door and see MSG there is no better place to stay.

9. Modern elevator systems can be used to make this better and it's a major hassle when you forego heading down to the street because you're afraid the elevator trip might not be worth it.

Another possibility could be to stay at more distant hotels (located out of Manhattan, near the airports (Newark or LaGuardia) or somewhere else, that are served by the subway/train system allowing you to get a better and cleaner hotel for a cheaper price and fast access to Manhattan (beware of train fares that could get expensive depending on your location).
