1. It was just the right number of blocks away from The Tenderloin where we felt the Hilton was just close enough that we would have felt unsafe at night if we stayed there.

We were very happy with * Location - parallel to busy Powell St and the Powell cable street cars that go up to Fisherman's Wharf, and right near Market St and the visitor's centre, Yes, behind the building is the Tenderloin area, which we came across one night and felt slightly unsafe, but just avoid that area and it will be fine.

4. While I never felt unsafe at the Park 55 (the entrances are strategically oriented towards Powell Station and Union Square while turning their back on the Tenderloin), you'll encounter some panhandlers (who congregate around transit hubs and busy areas) without a doubt.

5. Though I do see what some reviewers said about it being on a 'seedy' part of town, I never felt unsafe walking around, though the latest we were out was around 10PM.

9. Rooms and Reception are very easy to get to so you don`t feel like you are hauling your luggage all over the place or unsafe in some random corrider.
