1. Later we discovered that the wallpaper and carpet were worn/frayed and in need of repair, the bed was not up to Hilton standards and rather uncomfortable, the room safe didn't work (and we use them all the time and tried to follow the instructions), the room was quite noisy (though not as noisy as some in this hotel), and that the super cleanliness we were initially very pleased with was only for the first day (and yes, we do tip daily for good service).

7. This place oozes elegance and sophistication and if you allow yourself a moment to take it all in it feels as though you have literally stepped back into the 1920's- and much of the decor of the hotel and our room was styled as such, though nothing seemed at all worn or dated- it all seemed very luxurious and either preserved well or replaced in a way true to the era.
