1. Later we discovered that the wallpaper and carpet were worn/frayed and in need of repair, the bed was not up to Hilton standards and rather uncomfortable, the room safe didn't work (and we use them all the time and tried to follow the instructions), the room was quite noisy (though not as noisy as some in this hotel), and that the super cleanliness we were initially very pleased with was only for the first day (and yes, we do tip daily for good service).

2. Ask for a room farther from the El as some of the front-facing rooms can be noisy and dark.

6. I thought okay we will try this it was at the end of the hall, big hotel, what's the chances of having a noisy neighbor? Headed to bed around 10:30 and the guest next door arrived.

7. My advice is:ask for an updated room away from the noisy L, enjoy a drink in the lobby, and have that fabulous concierge Phillipe direct you to some hot spots.
