1. I started staying at the Drake because it seemed more up to date and was in a better location for after business hours activities.

This place oozes elegance and sophistication and if you allow yourself a moment to take it all in it feels as though you have literally stepped back into the 1920's- and much of the decor of the hotel and our room was styled as such, though nothing seemed at all worn or dated- it all seemed very luxurious and either preserved well or replaced in a way true to the era.
