and in fact walked away when I tried to challenge him on it.

I notice someone else on here said they were upgraded because of their platinum amex, didn't help us in anyway, in fact the guy who checked us in was rather
rude
about our credit cards as here in Australia if a purchase exceeds $5000 they put a stop on anymore until they get verification it is you making the purchase.

The next encounter with the concierge was about Midnight Mass at the Cathedral, I innocently asked the mass was televised and he was so

to me about it that it came across as anti- catholic.

but I'm assuming that is because they don't have to work for tips--the service charge is automatically added to your bill.
