1. But overall the decor was quite dated, the carpets and the bathroom etc.

3. In my mind, the Palace remains a somewhat dated, dowdy business hotel, that is in need of refurbishment.

4. The only negatives I'd mention are that some of the room fixtures (including the lighting and temperature control system) are getting very dated and the wifi was virtually unusable (at least from our corner rooms).

6. I believe the odd floors have modern style rooms (I way prefer these) and the evens have classic 'french' decor which I saw to be dated and 'very 4 star standard' rooms.
