1. NO bed bugs, Check-In staff were great, Security was fantastic, and i cant say enough about how great the location is.

2. Afterwards, we felt we got our money's worth by NYC standardsOther than a one hour wait to check in, the room was clean (we made a thorough check of mattress and bed linens for bed bugs before unpacking as reesult of some of the online negative comments).

4. Facts: took 40 minutes to check in (this place is hugely popular with foreign travelers), the room was miniscule and quite dark, you had to find the right spot on the TV remote or you were stuck on one station, no bathtub for the shower so the whole room was wet, and no room service.

I was spending 24 hours in New York following a conference in New Haven and, though I had been warned by the other reviews I had read here about this hotel, i was in a 30 minute queue to check in and found this to be so fustrating and unacceptable because they have a huge check-in desk, but never more than one person on it at a time, though there appear to be loads of staff loitering around.

We stayed here at the end of Nov 2009, 3 girls shopping trip, on arrival waited 20 mins to check in guy on desk was helpful and upgraded us to a junior suite as we wanted a smoking room, only thing i will say is that they ask for a $40 deposit that we was not told by Thomas Cook when we booked but we did get it back when we checked out, room was big we had a double bed each on the 6th floor, bathroom wasnt the greatest in need of upgrade but room was clean tidy and clean towels beds made everyday.
