1. Look, this is San Francisco, one of the most expensive cities in the world; this is a five star hotel; you're going to pay at least $300 a night.

4. I would recommend to all families traveling in San Francisco to not rent a car, not only because of the expense, but it's very stressful to navigate around a busy city like SF with all of the bus lanes, speeding taxi cabs and people.

Much less expensive places (but still nicely appointed in good locations) have free wireless, at least for priorityclub members, give you a bottle water or two when you check in, upgrade your room when they have availability, and have a decent business center where you can access the internet and do some limited printing.
