1. We arrived at the hotel at 10pm to be told that they had overbooked and didn't have the non smoking king room we booked available but could put us in a smoking double room with two single beds - after some pushing and explanation of my husbands severe asthma condition (to which they initially stated that the smell of smoke would only be minimal and residual from the previous guest.

2. so we go up to our room and our room and corridor smelled of ciggarette smoke i sprayed my room of perfume the room was clean and tidy same for the bathroom but no fridge no microwave cleaners came everyday did a great job supplied us with clean towels daily,next morning went straight to reception to ask if we can be moved to another room that didnt seem to be a problem and finally we got a connecting room for the whole family without the pong which was great but we shared our room with a mouse which my husband and daughter saw for their own eyes.

3. The only downside was booking this way landed us a smoking room when we wanted non-smoking and there were no nonsmoking alternatives available however the room was well aired and fresh and didn't even smell of smoke, It had operable windows which was refreshing and we had room service dinner which was excellent value for money and HUGE portions.

5. I asked to be moved which they did and the 2nd room was slightly better in as much as it didnt smell,however the bathroom was just as bad,but slightly bigger with a vanity unit along the side.

7. Exiting the elevator there was a putrid, sweet orange smelling chemical, maybe carpet cleaning or extermination? Once we got past that the room was ok.
