My wife and i stayed in the Novotel in Jan and its a great base for New York as its only 5 mins walk to Times Square, the room we had was ok but had great view but the mini bar was broken and needed updated but was fine, would stay here again 100% , we never used the cafe or bar also has a little shop which sell card and keyrings etc etc .
