1. They have a great beach with a secluded bay so regarless of how rough the ocean was you could always swim (great snorkelling here too - got to snorkel with turtles).

2. This hotel is almost identical to the Ritz Carlton in Maui (it used to be one) but the location is better as there is less wind, hotel is closer to the ocean and in the Maui hotel the ocean is usually too rough to go in.

6. Plenty of chairs by the beach, but the water is rough and rocky (you will need to wear shoes) good for surfing or boogie boarding but not good for snorkeling, Mauna Kea beach is where you want to go for snorkeling.
