7. Usually we stayed in the suburbs, but by the time you drive into the city and park downtown you've wasted plenty of time and money.

8. We chose the Congress on 3 factors: 1) it is in prime location in the loop, 2) it was the cheapest in that area-and anywhere downtown for that matter, and 3) the couple we traveled with stayed there in the spring.

9. I live in Chicago NW Suburbs myself, but get visitors from Europe relatively often i.e. stay overnight downtown quite frequently, so it's good to have a few well-located yet moderate rated hotels "in pocket".
