1. They can afford an automated self check in/check out machine but can't replace carpet or repair a bathroom door.

3. My friend and I arrived before our check-in time, but they already had our room ready, so we were able to drop our luggage off and get settled in.

4. Check-in was very fast (ess than a minute)and when I was shown to my 'Lake View' room on level 6 I found that there was no sight of the lake because the trees of Grant Park completely occluded the view.

5. We arrived at the hotel, no picketers (didn't see them untill the third day and it was only a couple of people walking around with signs, no trouble at all, it's been going on for 8 years) Beautiful lobby, check in was a breeze and all the staff were pleasant.

9. I very politely said that was the whole reason we booked there and we needed to check in right now so we could get on with the rest of our plans for the day.

10. The hotel itself has many rooms so in such a situation staff attention is limited - friendly on check in but no more contact thereafter which is fine in my view.
