1. The rooms are little shabby, and it is a historic building so the bathrooms are a bit dated and cramped, but the size of the room is decent for NYC standards.

3. and were shocked to see the old and ugly room with the smallest bathroom and stained carpets, when we complained we were told that the hotel is fully booked, the lobby of the hotel is still very nice,breakfast is rich and the service very good , the problem lies in the old and shabby rooms.

5. We stayed in room 811 - no fault with the comfortable beds, size etc but the bathroom is not only shabby but we were so overcome with the severe smell of ammonia/sewage on our third night that we had to move rooms at midnight.

10. When we finally got in our rooms both were very tired and although we received a 'free upgrade' our room was very small & shabby, I cannot imagine what the room would have been like had we not received an upgrade.
