1. Booking direct with the hotel gave us the best rate and I always think (maybe I'm wrong) in doing that you should get better service should problems arise.

4. Ate at Rare for breakfast - it was served only just warm and they got my colleagues order totally wrong.

5. Don't get me wrong, the location isn't that bad, but we like the location of the hotel to be central for what we do when we're on holiday and this was just skewed to one side of the island.

7. The bathroom was small, but adequate, although it could have been cleaned to a higher standard (don't get me wrong, it was by no means dirty, but there were small dusty areas - corners and behind taps and suchlike).

9. I was originally a bit dubious when we were offered accommodation at the hotel at quite a reasonable rate as part of a Qantas package but I was glad to be proved wrong.
