1. unfortunately, in my experience overall, there are certainly better restaurants and hotels for the price in NYC.

2. If you go up to the roof bar you can see the East river, Empire state and Chrysler building, unfortunately, it was closed due to rainy weather but you can still go up and check out the views.

4. We originally planned to stay at the Affinia Shelburne for 4 nights in August 2011 as part of a two city trip to the US - unfortunately due to the Hurricane we stayed for 6 nights in total and we really happy to get to spend an additional 2 nights at this hotel.

7. We had a great dining experience at Rave to celebrate my son's exam success, but unfortunately the second time of visiting, when we just wanted a drink before going out for a meal, was not so good.

8. unfortunately the hotel is down to just one elevator and that can be a problem in a 16 story hotel, especially during check-out time when everyone needs to take their luggage downstairs.

9. The general manager introduced himself to us which doesn't happen much these days cause everyone is so busy and asked us to stay for a jazz session and snacks but unfortunately we had arranged to go out.
