1. The decor is a bit dated and could be lightened up to compensate for the relatively small window sizes (again, a component of building age) and the towels are a bit worn.

4. The hotel is an older one with very attractive public areas, but some of it is getting a little tired and in need of replacement - the elevators are being overhauled so aren't very prompt, and the furniture in my room looked particularly well worn, but the room itself was very clean.

9. What happened to the slogan : 'Your home away from home' ?I had stayed at the Shelburne Murray Hill before, it was more than a bit worn down at the time (see other people's reviews from 2007 and before).
