1. As many people seem to be unpleasantly surprised by this extra 'tax' on their room bill, I think the hotel should include it in the advertised room rate, even if they have to raise it.

9. yes, if you don`t know ahead of time about the $12 resort fee, you may be unpleasantly surprised (it would be better just to raise the rates) but the fee was worth the pampering -- free fruit, frozen towels, popsicles at the beach.
