1. Here are some questions I would like to address: Why was our luggage taken to a new room? In the hotel industry, you should have been informed of bed bugs, just as the exterminator had informed us in ten minutes that afternoon.

2. Again, I’m not one to complain, and every effort was made on our part to follow directions and save what we could, but simply stated, we needed to spend money on new clothing and luggage in order to replace what had been ruined by the bed bug incident at your hotel.

3. How could I ever trust the hotel industry again? We would like you to look at your own policies for bed bug infestation, and change them immediately to prevent this from happening to more innocent people like us.

4. Also note if everything in the room had to be thrown out due to bug infestation, how could our luggage, which had been in the room for a full 36 hours, not contaminate the new room we were given? By moving us to the new room, the hotel put themselves at risk for yet another room to be “infested” with bed bugs.

7. We told them that the bug we had in the cup had bitten my husband’s ear, and that our bed was filled with what we thought were bed bugs.

8. Thankfully, we spoke with an outside source, the exterminator hired by the hotel, who gave us the facts about bed bugs.

9. The maintenance manager verified that the bug was indeed a bed bug, and then, receiving another call, quickly left.
