1. With just plain nasty rooms, scary hallways and uncomfortable beds, I could not get out of here faster (booked 3 nights, stayed 8 sleepless hours).

5. All the poorly-done details stood out so much it was hard to overlook the room's many faults: loud fan in the heater/AC unit, chipped paint throughout, bathroom door wouldn't shut, poorly-fitted ceramic tile 'fixed' by wide grout lines and globby caulk to fill in the gaps, wallpaper seams lifting, cheap uncomfortable pillows, etc etc.

9. This classic hotel is horribly neglected; staff have been on strike since 2003 - longest labour dispute in US history yet no warnings on hotel website - picket lines every day - disgraceful wages and employee conditions; low functioning air conditioner just recycles stale, humid air resulting in very damp room; air conditioner vent clogged with dirt; entire hotel needs maintenance before this historic gem is lost - neglectful owners; avoid the 'Gazebo' restaurant - grossly over priced and worst breakfast I've ever eaten; noise; low pressure in faucets; no WiFi in rooms; no outside phone lines; uncomfortable beds; dirty carpets; needs a major overhaul with a heritage architect; will never stay at this hell hole again .
"AVOID THIS RAT TRAP ! " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/28/2011 Vote
10. This was in late March and it snowed the next day; temps were LOW, so I don't know why this room was so unreasonably warm but we were all uncomfortable.
"Good deal on short notice, but we had no time to shop around " Read full review on TripAdvisor   6/23/2011 Vote
