All the poorly-done details stood out so much it was hard to overlook the room's many faults: loud fan in the heater/AC unit, chipped paint throughout, bathroom door wouldn't shut, poorly-fitted ceramic tile 'fixed' by wide grout lines and globby caulk to fill in the gaps, wallpaper seams lifting, cheap uncomfortable pillows, etc etc.

4. Yes, the wallpaper was peeling in spots and the paint chipped, but it was very clean and neat.

5. Wallpaper was peeling in a few spots and I wouldn't want to stay here too long-I'd be worried about the kids getting lead poisoning from the paint (it looked 100 years old and you could tell the trim and doors had been painted over many a time-over chipped paint too-so it was lumpy) Doorknobs were cool but mismatched.
