8. * carpets in passages were filthy* there was one redeeming feature and that was the receptionist who allowed us to check out of the hotel the following morning and thus cancel our 5night stay - we were thrilled and moved in to a fantastic midtown hotel where we could relax in a superb room and enjoy service and facilities of a very high standard for only a fraction more in price.

9. filthy grout in the shower; frosted glass bathroom door needs cleaned (who knows what all those smears are); carpeting in the hallway has had the same debris since we arrived three days ago and is generally in need of sweeping (haven't heard any vacuuming sounds); and there are no racks or hooks for hanging towels.
