3. The room was surprisingly quiet for such a busy part of the city, although West 35th Street itself is not that noisy and the hotel is shielded from the worst of the noise in the surrounding area.

7. There is bus service on the next blocks (5th and 6th Ave) and subway entrances are within a couple of blocks (Hearld Square) Of the many cities I have visited, New York may be the worst when it comes to providing signs for the subway.
