This place was apparently just overhauled and even though I
avoid
Tiimes Square and the Theatre district at all costs, it was a wonderful oasis just a stones throw from the square.

We did find the restaurants were busy early evening as people eat before going to the theatres, eating after 8pm meant we
avoid
ed these crowds.

The location is perfect - close to Times Square (if you're so inclined) but at the far end of 44th (near Sixth) so you can
avoid
all the touristy madness yet still have access to transport.

avoid
paying $50.

At check-in you are double-warned to
avoid
opening the minibar and touching anything you don't intend to buy because, 'you will be charged for it and I cannot take it off your bill.

Working in the entertainment industry, the Hotel Mela is certainly one establishment I tell all my colleagues to
avoid
like the plague.

All in all, we would definitely stay there again - even though I tend to
avoid
Times Square as much as possible.
