1. This place was apparently just overhauled and even though I avoid Tiimes Square and the Theatre district at all costs, it was a wonderful oasis just a stones throw from the square.

2. We did find the restaurants were busy early evening as people eat before going to the theatres, eating after 8pm meant we avoided these crowds.

3. The location is perfect - close to Times Square (if you're so inclined) but at the far end of 44th (near Sixth) so you can avoid all the touristy madness yet still have access to transport.

4. We learnt quite quickly to stop using the times sq subway and use bryant park instead to avoid the throng of people mooching around.

6. I should also mention there was a Subway restaurant right up the street (not that you come to NYC to eat at Subway) Butttttt we went there a few mornings and got a bkfst sandwich and coffee to avoid paying $50.

7. At check-in you are double-warned to avoid opening the minibar and touching anything you don't intend to buy because, 'you will be charged for it and I cannot take it off your bill.
