1. We did not hear any room-to-room noise at all (maybe because it is an older building with more solid construction), and the street noise was muffled and not an issue for us.

6. Got upgraded into an available wheelchair-accessible room, which was huge by NYC standards (also compared to my previous visit), and quiet (facing the interior brick wall) except for daytime sawing/construction noise from the building next door.

7. There's a bunch of construction going on in the adjacent building, so the hotel isn't visible from 7th Ave.

8. There was construction just outside the hotel, but our room faced a wall with no view whatsoever--and that was fine with me because I've NEVER had such a quiet hotel room in NYC.
