4. I am also more forgiving that my wife, who rates the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort as a 6 due to the dated guest rooms, inferior washrooms (including the lack of proper bathtubs), and the general poor state of the physical building.

5. If it was not for the location right by the sea and one the best spots for snorkelling on Big Island, this experience would have been a disaster for going so far around the world and getting such a poor overall experience.

6. The one night we did eat at the resort we found a very narrow selection and the service was poor although highly entertaining (guest were helping each other by sharing menu's and comparing wait times.

10. The only downside of this hotel is its terrible restaurant with rude staff, limited menu, and poor food BUT it is close enough to drive elsewhere to eat.
