1. The room did come with a white noise machine, but we didn't need to use it.

2. My first night stay was an alarm and although the guest with the noisy child checked out the next day, the noise from the hallways, the weather and wind shaking thin windows, the amenities in need of an update, (bathroom, shower, carpet, my overall rating can only be 3.

3. The first night started off very noisy and with limited sleep due to the 'shuttering' of the windows from the wind, the rather thin walls between room and hallway, and noise from another hotel guest and their unruly child.

4. And they offered so many little indulgences to guests -- evening wine-tasting, 24-hour coffee and tea service in the sitting room, a basket of fruit in our room on arrival, cookies with turn-down service, an ambient sound machine (not that there was much street noise to mask), a nice line of toiletries, pillow menu, etc.

10. We were also unfortunate to back onto the elevator shaft so were occasionally woken by the noise and the room also had an archaic heating system that spurted out heat whenever it wanted and as loud as it could.
