2. Check in was a breeze, and we went to our room to discover lightly playing classical music, robes and yummy cookies laid out, and a bottle of champagne and a card from staff.

3. She arranged for a town car to pick us up at SFO, early check-in, a delicious birthday cake and champagne (complete with flutes, china, silverware and cloth napkins), and had a rental car waiting for us the following morning for the next leg of our journey - Calistoga.

5. When I raised this with the front desk manager I was told there were no available other rooms for us to move to despite us being the very first people to check in that day, we even had to wait till a room was free.

9. Upon check in, we had a King room with a city view reserved for us, 206 A (there are few, most of the kings I understand, look into a patio, so this was a nice gesture).
