If you looked closely, you could see maintenance needed to be done (some
peeling
paint, carpets worn) but nothing serious enough to affect my experience.

The paint on the back of the bathroom door was cracked and
peeling
, the toilet and sink looked as though they hadn't been updated since the 40's, and there was even some hair on the floor.

The rest of the room: thoroughly lacking - nail polish splatter on night stand, paint chips on the walls (one rather large chip), lampshade
peeling
, TV remote did not work, bobby pin, and other stuff on the floor.

The light in the closet was broken (perhaps to hide the
peeling
paint on the ceiling) so it was difficult to find anything in there.

2) When I
peel
ed back the top cover on the bed (as I always do as soon as I get into a hotel room), I saw a dark curly hair.
