1. If you plan on going to the pool be sure to leave exactly at 10:00 pm because staff will enforce there pool closing time very strictly borderline rudely.

The Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel is much better than the Californian in my opinion, though for some reason it has the same slow desk service service and insistence on Exact Check In Times - as Posted requirement -and the same disinterested to the point of rudeness desk clerks- - rather than real world or hotels just 15 miles from Disneyland who actually feel they should be nice to you - even when they charge half the rate this Disneyland hotels do - for the same rooms and amenities.
