Location was great for exploring the city, 5 mins walk to Chinatown, don't bother with Grant Street and the
tacky
shops, for a real taste of Chinatown , walk thru the Stockton Street Tunnel and then the hustle and bustle of market shops hits you.

The Wharf is a bit too
tacky
, a bit too touristy, and in general, a bit overpriced (restaurant wise).

(Just as a word of advice, we almost stayed in a hotel in the Fisherman`s Wharf area of the city - glad we didn`t; this area is a bit
tacky
and 'seasidey' with little to really offer other than trips to Alcatraz, which is not to be missed.
