If you are bringing a car to the hotel you'll have to budget on valet parking with a 20-25 min delivery time (book your car collection time to
avoid
this).

Prior to booking the hotel, I read a lot about it, so I was aware that there was no air conditioning and to request a room at the back of the hotel, to
avoid
the noise of Powell Street.

avoid
Times Square like the plague.

:) I would definitely recommend either requesting a room high up (to
avoid
noise) or a room to the back of the hotel which was much quieter.

A few blocks of walking brings you into contact the San Francisco's many homeless and you either need to steel yourself and
avoid
eye contact or drop a dollar or so and walk on.

- Because of the lack of AC, the bathroom window needs to be opened regularly to
avoid
getting mold spots on the mirror and walls.
