1. ) The rooms were comfortable but without air-conditioning; I didn't find the lack of a/c a problem and the weather hit 93F this weekend.

2. It has some lovely touches including the complimentary tea,coffee and cookies in the lobby which make up for the lack of tea making faciities in the room.

Lady on reception the day we checked out was charmless and blunt with me and lacked the friendliness of the lady who checked us in, but I'm from the UK so I'm more than used to this kind of customer services and I was amused rather than annoyed by her (not so sure that someone of a more sensitive disposition would have been as generous as me tho.

4. Others have commented about the lack of air conditioning, San Fran was unseasonally warm in the days we were there, but we slept with the windows open & were surprised how quiet the city was.

5. lack of service from staff, but I guess that is expected with its rating - however we arrived from airport early at 11am & without even asking our room was available immediately, very appreciated after the long flight from Sydney.

6. There are (as other reviewers mentioned) a lot of homeless people on the streets but I didn't feel threatened and personally view this as a reflection on the lack of a welfare state in the US and therefore an issue in most US cities you visit.
