1. The blower of the heating system when it came on was very loud and annoying if you have sensitive hearing.

2. Described on Hotwire as 4 stars with Amenities: Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Golf NearbyRate paid was $146 for late September (During Gourtmet Wine Festival)Pros: Perfectly located at the top of Maginificent Mile; on the same block as 900 Mall; near all the high end street shops; safe and clean location (eventhough homeless people sleep at the church on the corner of Delaware and Michigan); within a $10 cab ride to the Bean and Museum Campus; Friendly Front Desk staff (let me check in at 8am); clean room and bathroom; no bedbug issue (despite what some google hits reveal)Cons: Only 2 elevators that service the entire building, and the actual elevator cabs only fit about 6 people; Plumbing can be loud from units beside, above, and below; doormen not really attentive unless they can make tips off of you; closest subway stop is State/Chicago which is about a 10 minute casual walk; interior style is a bit old which is why most guest were aged 50 and over; hotel restaurant/bar looked run down and rarely busy (you are better off going to Rush street).

7. There was some apprehension as others had noted small rooms, noise, dirt and loud or malfunctioning air con along with intrusive building building work.

8. (our first morning in the hotel and more than four hours before we planned on getting up) we were awoken by the incredibly loud sounds of garbage trucks backing into the alley (beeping every second or so), picking up dumpsters, and then dropping them onto the ground.
"Horrendous Experience " Read full review on TripAdvisor   11/6/2007 Vote
9. The furniture was terribly outdated, the table tops on the desk, nightstands, and side table were badly scratched/damaged, the airconditioner ran loudly and sounded like a washing machine in mid-cycle, the alarm clock was faulty, and kept 'crackling' audibly all night, the TV cable channels sucked (a majority of the channels were either sports or news) and the walls of the room were paper thin.
"Great Location, but Tiny Rooms - NOT A 4-5 STAR HOTEL " Read full review on TripAdvisor   10/11/2007 Vote
10. After reading the reviews on TripAdviser I asked for a room facing the street and we were given one just opposite the lifts, but this caused no problems except for someone talking loudly outside the lifts one morning.
"Good value, better than some reviews suggested " Read full review on TripAdvisor   9/30/2007 Vote
