1. Yes it is dated in places, and furniture is scuffed in places but if that's what you are looking at you are in the wrong city.

If however you want your own basic New York apartment where you can really spread out, get Chinese delivered to your door when you're knackered, get a great night's sleep or watch TV in another room if you're the only member of the family suffering jetlag, AND save hotel costs to splash out on taxis, great meals, shows and more of the NYC experience, then you can't go wrong.
