1. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but that I believe is the secret for this great old gem of the NYC.

2. If you are looking for luxury and a modern feel, this is probably not the place for you: the rooms and furniture are a bit dated (although very clean and comfortable).

6. Eastgate is not the most luxurious place--it's a bit dated--BUT it was VERY clean, nice neighborhood, GREAT staff--perfect for families or groups that are looking for an affordable place to stay but don't need a lot of frills (which of course adds $$$.
