1. this is a 5+star hotel - there should be no apparent wear and tear, a nice chocolate on the bed at night, slippers for the bath, newspaper at the door etc.

2. The rooms are large and nicely appointed although they need some tending - dusty items inside the cabinets etc , little wallpaper tears - a wee bit worn and unloved.
