1. As a Starwood platinum member we were upgraded to a truly great suite with a corner room, etc. And the rate was very acceptable.

4. The restaurant is good, specially breakfast, and there is (excellent) complimentary coffee in the lobby early in the morning, I only wish they left it out a while longer, since it is typically gone by the time I get there at around 10 a.m. Oh, and the rates are way higher since about six months ago, I hope they bring them back down so that we will continue to stay here.

5. Shower temperatures were adjustable more easily than in the room, and water flow rate was also much larger than in the room.

6. I have stayed at the St Regis and the predessor hotels for almost 20 years and I rate it the finest hotel property in all of Houston if not all of Texas.

7. Overnight parking amounts to $29.23 before tips - a rate not paid virtually anywhere else in the world including London, Paris or Hong Kong for equivalant 5 stars.

9. Rack rate showing $445 for next week, and I don't know that I'd pay that much to stay in any hotel, particularly in Houston, but for $145/nt, I'd move into that place full-time if I could.
