1. We flew in to JFK and got the subway virtually to their doorstep very easy for a first timer!we were given a room on the 18th floor and it was a large room, only negative was view out the back,but overall great.

2. All the staff I encountered were helpful, the room was clean and the fitness center was quite large for a midtown hotel, with a great view on the treadmills and just about any equipment you could want.

3. The 'spa suite' on the 17th floor we booked was a fantastic space, with a huge wrap-around terrace that had stunning city views, plenty of chaises, and even a pool table.

5. Make sure you go on the statten island ferry - its free and has the best views of the statue of liberty.

6. Great 1st room, bigger than expected, great decor and fabulous view but we had an issue with our ceiling leaking for 2 days and the bathroom shower not draining.
