1. Was greated at the door with a complementary upgrade to a suite (due to Starwood status) and non-stop service once I checked in.

2. Having had a good couple of experiences at W hotels, Miami and Bali, thought would try to stay with them in NYC, This place is a joke, firstly ALEX --, on reception is better suited to being a prison warden than working in hospitality.

4. The room was great and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite, so plenty of space, with comfortable space-age sofas for lounging around drinking the aforementioned bubbly.

6. He immediately recognized my Platinum status, explained that I had been upgraded to a Fantastic Suite but he'd need to check and see if the room was ready.

7. He then asked me to just hold on a second, and after talking with a manager on duty he let me know that instead of the Fantastic Suite they are more than happy to upgrade another level up to the Marvelous Suite on the 17th floor.

8. The Marvelous Suite itself was spacious and the terrace was much bigger than I expected, all furniture was modern and in very good condition.

9. The hallways themselves were a bit dark, which isn't unusual for W's and I made my way over the Marvelous Suite.
