1. Dinner - would recommend Basso56 on 234 West, 56th Street (between 7th and 8th Ave, minutes from hotel) - stumbled across this fantastic Italian and enjoyed 2 great meals.

2. We ate at the Molyvos restaurant, or tried to as we wanted an early dinner before we went to the Lion King (was awesome) but they only start serving dinner at 5:30 so they shoved everyone over in a corner and all you could get were appetizers that were pricey.

3. There's a really nice dinner next to the hotel which is very reasonable but get there before 8 am as it's very popular.

4. The Metro is close by and the attached Park Cafe was a refreshing 'bolt hole' from the hotel and can be recommended for breakfast and an informal dinner.

Few tips:We used every day for breakfast Fluffy's Cafe is on the 7th ave one block away, very good prices and lovely food and nice people there and for the dinner different restaurants (there are 100s) but the best one was John's Pizza on the number 260 44th st for pepperoni we paid 15 and it was small one but very big.

7. Adjacent to the hotel as the Park cafe - great value and huge meals, had a breakfast and dinner there most nights, very clean, fast service, great value for money.

8. There is a lovely greek restaurant below the hotel, which you can access through the hotel which was great on the days we didn't want to go far for dinner and face the cold, as it was very, very cold.
