1. We rented a car for one afternoon from enterprise on Mason street just a few blocks away to avoid the $65 overnight parking, and walked to most other places if needed.

2. You may encounter very obvious signs of homelessness throughout Union Square, with one street seeming fine and the very next one sending off red flags to avoid it.

5. There are other hotels that are better placed down town or at Fisherman's Wharf if you want to be closer to either of those locations, but I would recommend the Fairmont as it's an iconic hotel - just avoid the restaurant and make the best use of pubic transport/taxis.

6. I travel to San fran all the time and I will avoid this one and go back to the smaller hotels with the same size rooms but I get free wifi and fitness access.

7. The gift bag contained snacks and bottles of water which was obviously the wedding party's way of helping to avoid such extra costs.

10. Cons: Location isn't great if you're interested in exploring the city; doors in the main building are REALLY loud when they close, so avoid it if you're a light sleeper; but the real problem is this hotel's service: it's is poor, particularly given the Fairmont reputation and price.
